Downtown Rapid City has over 70 shops and boutiques. Many offer unique products made in South Dakota. Of special interest to tourists are Native American crafts and Black Hills Gold jewelry. Located across from Main Street Square is Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries which features a world class collection of Native American art and crafts.

Currency Exchange

The Rushmore Plaza Civic Center has an ATM located in the West Concourse outside of the Administrative Office as well as an ATM in the South Concourse near the Ice Arena Box Office. ATMs are also available at downtown banks. Wells Fargo Bank, located at 825 Saint Joseph Street, provides currency exchange services. Ensure that you inform your bank before travelling abroad, and be aware you may be charged for cash withdrawals. It is advisable to exchange some cash before arriving in Rapid City. Most shops and restaurants will accept credit cards. Visa and Master Card are more commonly accepted than American Express.  Please note that hotels do not provide currency exchange services.
